T is for Taxes

and Temple

and Tree

Taxes have likely been around since the first days of government,
when one man decided to watch over others ... probably a father/grandfather / great grandfather / great great grandfather ...
one or many of Adam and Eve's  children or grandchildren.

You pay me,
and I'll take care of you.
Taxes.

God asked for tithe instead - a mere 10%,
to be taken to the temple,
the same temple (rebuilt) that Mary and Joseph visited
with an 8 day old baby Jesus,
and 2 turtledoves.

But however they came about ...
Ceasar wanted to collect taxes.
And through those taxes,
Joseph found himself guiding his wife Mary
on a long trip,
all the way to Bethlehem.

Later,
Jesus would pay his taxes with a coin found in a fish.
