We try hard to not make copies without a good reason - unless it is the purpose of the book.
Such as .... a cousin surprises us and shows up during a lesson, I've scanned and printed pages of just ONE lesson for them to work with another child.
Or I can't find a book to buy (out of print), but I need a second copy.
Most of the time, if I need a book to stay clean (so the next child can use it),
we just have the child using the book do all the writing on a separate sheet of paper (just like I did growing up) or they trace the picture or map by hand.
In general, most maps and charts can be found on the internet for free printing anyway. So our first response is to look for a free similar item online - before making a copy.
