Art is not my thing.
Oh, my head knows a lot...
but don't ask my fingers to participate.
My art looks about like the average 8 year old.
Honestly.
But art curriculum for older children can be so expensive.
Once Story and Song had done everything that I could afford,
I struggled to find something new.
We tripped on Rod and Staff books,
because I needed a more logical based English -
something with diagramming sentences.
And there, tucked at the back of the catalog,
were
a whole year for under $10.
After reading all of the descriptions,
we settled on 4th grade level,
even though both girls were pass that grade.
I think it would have been better to have started
even younger.
The girls do one lesson each week.
They are not artistically inclined either,
so each lesson takes them anywhere from 3 to 10 hours each.
After finishing level 6,
Story says she is done.
Song put her level 6 away for 2 years,
and has just pulled it back out.
At age 14,
she found the work difficult,
but doable.
All of the pictures below are ones
that Song has completed in the past 6 months.
We don't always remember to take a picture.
I'm planning to start Scholar on the 1st grade
level in 3rd or 4th grade.
