Alphabet Advent: S is for Shepherds

S is for Shepherds

and for Sheep

and Star
and Snow


Israel was a nation of shepherds,
He wanted them to understand the care
he wanted to show to his people.

Jesus was to be the perfect sacrificial lamb,
so who better to attend the birth
that the shepherd who raised so many of the sheep
that were used for sacrifices?




I believe the star came much later,
certainly after Mary and Joseph went to the temple
for the purification sacrifice.
